Senior Structural Engineer

We are seeking Senior Structural Engineers to join us!
Candidates should have a B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Structural Engineering, and 6+ years of related experience. Candidates must be fast learners, ambitious, have the ability to handle increased responsibilities, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to interact effectively with clients, projects teams, and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and execute the scope, fee schedule and contractual obligations we have agreed with our client. Bring work requested by the client that is outside of the agreement to the attention of the Project Manager.
- Prepare a resource plan outlining the resources required to complete the scope within the schedule.
- Ensure all project team members are adequately briefed on their respective tasks assigned. This briefing should include technical components and time/cost expectations.
- Communicate regularly with the PIC during the duration of the project.
- Notify the PIC immediately should the scope, complexity or schedule for the project change.
- Write Additional Service Requests (ASRs) when additional scope is requested.
- Ensure Holmes Structures’ QA/QC protocol is followed for all projects for which you are the Project Manager.
- Communicate with clients, as needed, based on the project scope.
- Complete invoices on a monthly basis for all projects assigned by the PIC.
- Attend weekly staffing meetings, on an as-needed basis, to coordinate staffing needs (beyond your own) with other Project Managers.
Candidates should have:
- B.S. and/or M.S. Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
- 6+ years working in a structural engineering consultancy.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Actively working towards Structural Engineer (SE) licensure.
- Seismic based design experience or education.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including listening and questioning.
- Excellent written communication skills, including report writing.
- Coaching/mentoring skills
- Presentation skills to contribute to team talks, technical sessions and project presentations.
- Time management skills.
- Computer software skills: Intermediate MS Word, Advanced MS Excel. Advanced ETABS, SAP, Risa (or equivalent).
- Problem-solving skills.
- Sound technical skills: understands structural engineering design principles.
- Team player: works with project team.

Compensation
Base salary: $100,000 - $115,000 + biannual profit share bonus potential. Salary will be commensurate with experience / skills and location.
